A Note of Thanks

To Professor Laurie and my fellow classmates I thank all of you for helping me devise an advocacy focus and share my concerns and issues regarding parental communication and parental involvement. Because of your critical feedback and suggestions, I was able to present my plan to a group of teachers, parents, staff, and early childhood professionals. As a result, I feel more empowered to  implement my plan in the Fall.
I also thank you for your encouragement that kept me going, as this was a difficult class. I thank Professor Laurie for answering all of my calls. I'm sure I contacted you over ten times throughout this semester. To all of my classmates, your feedback through blogs and class discussions, confirmed the need of advocating for improving parental communication and increasing parental involvement. You shared your struggles and you recommended strategies and resources which made it easier for me to present my plan.
I wish all of you the best of luck as you continue your journey in the field of early childhood education. May God  bless you as you work towards improving the lives of young children and families.
Although, I have only met many of you online, I have many mixed emotions as I complete my final class at Kendall. I do plan to continue to use my blog after this class and I would love to stay in touch with you. Congratulations to all of the graduates and I hope to meet you personally at the graduations.

  4. I wanted to thank you for your advice on contacting the professor. I have done it a time or two but only through email or leaving a message when turning in my homework. I think because I have maintain a high 3 GPA that I didn't need help. I know I am not doing to well right now and I'm afraid I'll have to retake this class but I'm suppose to be graduating when this class is over. I have never had this much trouble in any class. You are not the only one who suggested that I call her... so I think I'll make time and give her a call this week.
Best of luck on you advocacy speech and the last few turn-ins of this class as well as the rest of your Kendall career.
I have kept up with reading your blog because I find your post very positive and inspiring.

  5. A Note of Thanks to Vertina Charles

I want to take this opportunity to say thank you to Professor McDevitt and everyone for their support. This was not an easy task for me and a very stressful one due to health issues I am currently dealing with. I must say many of you were very supportive and helpful to me. This was the hardest class that I have ever taken. At one point I just thought about giving up. Trying to stay on track and keep my focus was not easy. It is a good feeling knowing that there are individuals out there willing to help no matter what. The feedback I received whether positive or negative helped me to focus on the issue at hand and to stay on track. The blessings and prayers that I received as well helped me to stay focus and not think about the health issues. The support I received is something I will never forget. As a result I was able to present my presentation on implementing effective bilingual education in an early childhood classroom. Advocating for bilingual education is very important and I ask that we all as we continue in our journeys to keep this in mind. I want to also wish all of you the best as you continue on in advocating and working for young children. I spoke with some and you and emailed some of you and hopefully we can keep in touch. I wish you all the best as you continue to work and advocate for children. Good health to you and your family. BEST WISHES TO ALL AND THANKS FOR ALL YOUR KIND AND LOVING SUPPORT. YOU’RE THE BEST.
